Privacy Policy

How Launchlet handles data based on the app's current code.

Last updated: July 9, 2026

Summary

Launchlet does not include account creation, server-side sync, analytics, telemetry, or advertising code in the current app. Most data stays on your Mac.

Data Stored Locally

Launchlet stores shortcuts, groups, website URLs, app bundle identifiers, app paths, folder paths, folder opener choices, optional folder colors, launch counts, last-launched timestamps, custom quick-access apps, and preferences such as language, appearance, sorting, favicon display, compact layout, panel position, login item setting, and hotkey settings.

Where It Is Stored

Shortcut and group data is written to a local JSON file in your macOS Application Support folder. Preferences and custom quick-access apps are stored with macOS UserDefaults. Security-scoped bookmarks for selected apps and folders are stored locally so the sandboxed app can reopen them later.

Network Requests

If website favicons are enabled, Launchlet requests icons for saved website hosts from Google S2, DuckDuckGo, and the website's own /favicon.ico endpoint. Opening a website passes the URL to the browser you selected. Launchlet does not send shortcut configuration to a Launchlet server.

Import and Export

Exported configuration files include portable shortcut and group data, such as titles, URLs, paths, bundle identifiers, opener choices, groups, and custom quick-access apps. Exports intentionally omit local security-scoped bookmarks and local launch usage statistics.

Permissions

Launchlet uses the macOS App Sandbox, the network client entitlement for favicon loading, and user-selected file access for apps and folders you choose through system pickers.

Deleting Data

You can delete shortcuts, groups, and custom quick-access apps inside Launchlet. You can also remove exported configuration files wherever you saved them. Removing the app's local data from Application Support and UserDefaults removes the local configuration.

Changes

This policy should be updated if Launchlet adds accounts, sync, analytics, purchases, activation checks, or other network services in the future.
